ARMY JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS
the Las Vegas "Wildcats" Battalion was activated with the opening of the new school year in 1993. We have grown from 74 cadets in 1993 to a battalion consisting of 320 cadets. The program encompasses physical fitness, academics, drill, and leadership. By the cadets fourth year of AJROTC they understand the importance of citizenship, patriotism, and leadership skills. Cadets also participate in numerous community and school activities. Events include sdistributing stuffed animals to local pediatric wards, and a tutoring program.
The cadets are active in community and school service projects as well as adventure training. The cadets learn team work, problem solving, commmunication, and leadership. Yearly over 50 cadets attend a spring encamppment. They participate in activities that stress their physical and mental limits. Activities include Repelling, Orienteering, and a Leadeship Recreation Course. Leadership roles are changed daily giving cadets an opportunity to serve in a variety of leadership roles. Reaponsibility, accountability and academics are stressed on the corps.
The "Wildcats" Battalion cadets want to thank the school administration, faculty, and parents for their support through the year. They work hard on their performance routines and hope you enjoy them.
